How it works
One shipment, start to finish
Follow a single bale of cotton yarn from a mill in Faisalabad to a knitting factory in Mombasa.
Step 1
A buyer needs yarn
A knitting factory in Mombasa posts an RFQ. A bale of cotton yarn in Faisalabad needs to reach Mombasa.
Step 2
The mill is verified in person
Before the mill can sell, a SokoMandi field agent visits it in person: the machines, the stock, the documents and the owner.
Step 3
Order placed, money in escrow
The buyer accepts the quote and pays. The money is held in escrow — the mill can see it, but cannot touch it yet.
Step 4
Inspected and loaded at Karachi
Freight is quoted, an inspector checks count, weight and spec, and the yarn is loaded onto a vessel at Karachi.
Step 5
Across the ocean
The container crosses the ocean while payment travels over Raast, PAPSS and M-Pesa, with every milestone in the deal room.
Step 6
Only then the money moves
In Mombasa the buyer opens the crate. Everything matches. Only then does the money move to the mill.
